Living up to the Morena sun-kissed skin other Americans oh-so love?
If you’re a pure Filipino, chances are, your skin is that darker tone of brown. Others call it ‘tan’, we call it Morena – a skin-color that other nationalities admire because it looks so beautiful, other people with lighter skin tones have to stay under the sun to achieve it.
It’s no secret that from time to time, girls like me have troubles making sure that the dress or clothes I’m wearing flatters my Morena skin, but even if there are so many choices that work, it’s still great wearing something that compliments your skin which will amp your confidence like no other and get that radiant glow you oh-so-want.
Here are some colors you can try if you’re still completing that inspo-board you’ve been making before you decided to go shopping and tossing all the clothes in your closet that suck.
When in doubt, use a neutral color. Earth tones. Tans. These colors are so close to your natural skin color; they’d blend right in.
Black works with anything or anyone. It does, and it always will. Keeping a little black dress in your closet will be very useful, especially in times where you do not know what to wear.
Like black, white is a staple for any closet. More and more girls are into a fresh and clean look which emphasizes your Morena skin more. Using your fave lipstick and wearing a comfy pair of shoes or cute sandals and you’re good to go.
Want a contrast to your beautiful Morena skin? Why not try a light grey Sunday dress for work today? This color is a great color for work because of how formal it looks and using a crisp blazer will just do the trick.
5. Pastel Colors
Anything light-colored is perfect for any skin tone. Light pink, light blue, even light purple are perfect for any Morena-skinned girl. This is perfect during the hot weather, but most especially during fall when you just want to look fresh.
6. Blue (Navy or Royal)
Light color blue, navy blue or even royal blue – try it next time you are undecided with what color you should wear. May it be for a sunny trip to the park or a day at work, wearing your favorite blue top and jeans will surely be a pretty sight.
7. Bright Yellow
When you want to stand out in a crowd, wearing a bright yellow dress would usually do the trick. Sometimes using a mustard yellow outfit will make you look darker, but never with a bright yellow frock. Try it with platform heels, and you’re definitely the star of the show.
I usually suggest metallic colors for shoes or bags to accentuate or complete your outfit, but using a metallic blazer or cardigan will surely make people look. If you like attention, this is definitely something you ought to try.
